Saving a Workspace
It is a good idea to save your workspaces as you work so you won't lose your work in the event of closing the application or a power outage. When you save a workspace, all changes in all windows contained in the workspace are saved. You can save only your current workspace or all open workspaces at the same time.
When naming your workspace, you can use long, descriptive names. Workspace names cannot include any of the following characters: forward slash (/), backslash (\), greater than sign (>), less than sign (<), asterisk (*), period (.), question mark (?), quotation mark ("), pipe symbol (|), colon (:), or semicolon (;). Also, the complete path to the file, including the drive letter, server name, folder path, and file name, can contain up to 255 characters.
Saving Changes in the Current Workspace
- From the Main menu bar, click File > Workspaces > Save Workspace, or right-click on the workspace tab and select Save Workspace.
- If you've already named the workspace, the workspace and its changes are saved.
- If the workspace is new (Untitled Workspace), you are prompted to type a workspace name in the File box, then click Save.
Saving Changes to All Open Workspaces
- From the Main tool bar, click the Save All Workspaces icon, or use the Main File > Workspaces > Save All Workspaces menu sequence.
- If all the workspaces have been named, then all the workspaces and their changes have been saved. To cancel the operation, click Cancel. To save only specific workspaces, click Yes. TradeStation cycles through the workspaces, prompting you to save each one. Click Yes for those to save, and No for those not to save. To save none of the workspaces, click No to All.
- If there is a workspace that has not yet been named (Untitled Workspace), the Save Workspace As dialog is displayed prompting you to provide a workspace name. In the File name box, type a name for your workspace.
- Click Save.
