Copying a Workspace

Copying a current workspace allows you to make a duplicate copy of a particular workspace and make changes to the duplicate while keeping the original workspace intact.

When naming your workspace, you can use long, descriptive names. Workspace names cannot include any of the following characters: forward slash (/), backslash (\), greater than sign (>), less than sign (<), asterisk (*), period (.), question mark (?), quotation mark ("), pipe symbol (|), colon (:, or semicolon (;). Also, the complete path to the file, including the drive letter, server name, folder path, and file name, can contain up to 255 characters.

  1. Activate a window to copy from.
  2. From the Menu Bar, click File >  Workspaces > Save Workspace As. The Save Workspace As dialog is displayed.
  3. Type a new name for the duplicate workspace in the File name box.
  4. Click Save.

When you copy a workspace, the copy becomes the active workspace and any changes made since the last time the workspace was opened are saved to the duplicate copy; the original workspace is closed without changes being saved. You can re-open the original workspace at any time by opening a workspace and selecting the original workspace.
