Managing Strategy-Generated Orders in TradeManager

If you have chosen to automate a trading strategy and have it generate trading orders (by selecting the Generate strategy orders for display in TradeManager's Strategy Orders tab check box), you can manage those orders from the Strategy Orders tab in the TradeManager window.

Placing an Ignored Strategy-Generated Order in TradeManager

If a strategy is set with automation fully enabled and with confirmation ON (by checking Automate execution using NNN account with confirmation On from the Strategies tab of the Customize Strategies dialog) you will be required to approve each order before it is sent. If you do not approve an order and choose, instead, to Ignore it, it will be marked as Unsent in the Order Status column with Ignore in the Order Held column of the Strategy Orders tab of the TradeManager. These orders may still be submitted using the Strategy Orders tab of the TradeManager.

Placing an Ignored strategy-generated order using the New Strategy Order Window

  1. Open TradeManager and select the Strategy Orders tab.
  2. Right-click the row containing the order and select Ignore [symbol] strategy order from the shortcut menu to clear the Ignore status.
  3. From the New Strategy Order confirmation dialog, select the desired setting:
    • [Order Type] [Symbol] Now - places the order.
    • Customize at the Trade Bar - populates the Trade Bar with the details for this order to be adjusted before placing.
    • Ignore [Symbol] Order - changes the Order Held status back to Ignore.

Placing an Ignored strategy-generated order using the Shortcut Menu

  1. Open TradeManager and select the Strategy Orders tab.
  2. Right-click the row containing the order and select Ignore [symbol] strategy order from the shortcut menu to clear the Ignore status.
  3. Right-click the order again and select Place this [symbol] strategy order.
  4. Select Send Now [order details] or Customize at the Trade Bar.
    • Send Now [order details]- sends the order as it was generated from the strategy.
    • Customize at the Trade Bar - populates the Trade Bar with the details for this order to be adjusted before placing.

Customizing a Strategy-Generated Order in TradeManager

You can customize the order details of a strategy-generated order before you actually place it.

  1. Open TradeManager and select the Strategy Orders tab.
  2. Right-click the order in the Strategy Orders tab and select Customize at Trade Bar. The Trade Bar will be automatically populated with the details of the order as they were generated from the strategy.
  1. Make any adjustments that need to be made.
  2. Place the order.

Ignoring a Strategy-Generated Order in TradeManager

If you do not wish to place a strategy-generated order, you can ignore it from the Strategy Orders tab in the TradeManager window. When you ignore a strategy-generated order, the Order Held column displays "Ignored". After you ignore a strategy-generated order, you can also make it active again if you wish.

Ignoring a strategy-generated order

  1. Open TradeManager and select the Strategy Orders tab.
  2. Right-click the order on the Strategy Orders tab and select Ignore [symbol] strategy order from the shortcut menu.
    A check mark appears next to the menu item to indicate that it is in effect.

Removing the Ignore status from a strategy-generated order

  1. Open TradeManager window and select the Strategy Orders tab.
  2. Right-click the order on the Strategy Orders tab and select Ignore [symbol] strategy order from the shortcut menu again. The check mark disappears next to the menu item to indicate that it is no longer in effect.

Finding Ignored Strategy Orders in TradeManager

At some point, you may want to locate a strategy order that you had chosen to ignore initially. You can easily filter out these orders on the TradeManager - Strategy Orders tab in the TradeManager.

  1. Open TradeManager and select the Strategy Orders tab.
  2. To locate orders for a specific symbol and enter the symbol in the Symbol box.
  3. Select Ignored Orders from the drop-down list.
