Creating a Portfolio

A Portfolio consists of one or more strategy groups. A suggested workflow involves creating at least one strategy group before creating a portfolio. However, it is possible to create a portfolio without creating the strategy group and applying it to the portfolio at a later time.  

  1. To create a portfolio, use the menu bar File > New > Portfolio menu sequence.
  2. Enter the desired name for the portfolio in the New Portfolio Name dialog and click OK. The main window shows the new portfolio name and it is also added to the Selections panel.

 You can also click the Manage Portfolios icon from the Shortcut Bar and click New from the toolbar.

  1. To add a strategy group to the new portfolio, click the Add Strategy Group button.  The Add Strategy Group dialog is displayed.
  2. Select the desired strategy group to add to the portfolio.
  3. Click OK.

 If there are no symbols associated with the selected strategy group, you will be prompted to add the symbols to the strategy group.
