About the Chart Analysis Window
Chart Analysis windows are used to display price charts, perform technical
analysis, back-test and automate strategies, and see open and for the charted symbol. You can create several
charts within the same workspace and you can add multiple symbols to a
single Chart Analysis window.
Access by clicking the Chart Analysis icon in the TradingApps window. A new Chart Analysis window
is displayed.
Charting Elements
- Price bars - Graphically reveal how a particular stock, option,
futures contract, or other symbol is performing and how it has reacted
to past market conditions.
- Technical
analysis - Tools may be applied to charts including a variety
of indicators, ShowMe's, PaintBar's, and drawing objects to assist
you in identifying patterns and trading opportunities.
- Strategies
- Can also be added to charts allowing you to develop and back-test
your trading ideas and, when appropriate, automate buy/sell signals
and order generation.
- Order
status markers - Can be overlaid on price data for the charted symbol
to keep track of open orders and filled positions.
