Hot Keys
The Hot Keys dialog allows you to view and change Hot Keys settings for the platform. In addition to assigning Hot Keys to perform basic file, edit, and view functions, such as Close Workspace (Ctrl+W), you can also assign them to built-in Macro commands or to any custom Macros that you create.
Access from the Main toolbar, and click the Hot Keys icon, or use the menu bar View > Hot Keys menu sequence. The Hot Keys dialog is displayed.
Categories
Contains a list of Menu Bar options.
- Select the desired menu bar option you want to associate a hot key to.
Commands
Contains a list of commands associated to the selected menu bar option in the Categories section.
- Press new Hot Key - By default, None is displayed. Type a hot key desired hot key command in the new Hot Key box.
- Current keys - Displays hot keys that are currently assigned to the selected command. You may have more than one hot key assigned. If there are no hot keys displayed in the Current keys box, a hot key may be created for the selected command.
- Description - Provide detail information about the selected command.
- Layout - The default Hot Key layout is named "TradeStation". Layouts are created and saved using a Keyboard layout (.kbl) format. When a keyboard layout is saved using the Save As button, it will be displayed in the drop-down list. To change the keyboard layout one that is previously saved, select it from the drop-down list, and click the Load button. If you modify Hot Keys in the TradeStation layout, the default layout name will be changed to TradeStation (Modified), to indicate that it has been changed.
- Assign - Assigns the new hot key to the selected command.
- Remove - Removes the hot key that is displayed in the Current keys box of the selected command.
Click Close to close the window.
