Correcting a Data Missing Error

Some studies require multiple symbols to be plotted on a chart in order to calculate. For example, the Percent Change 2 Data indicator (Pcnt Chng 2 Data-Cum), which plots the total percentage change of one market to another, requires that you have at least two symbols plotted in one chart before it can calculate. If you try to add this study when you have only one symbol plotted, you will get a Data Missing error window.

See Creating a Multi-Data Chart for more information on creating multi-data charts.

When you get a Data Missing Error, the study is turned off and your study cannot be inserted on your chart.

  1. Click OK to remove the error message.
  2. Add the appropriate number of symbols onto the chart or correct the error that was displayed in the message box.
  3. Access the Studies > Edit Studies. The Customize Studies & Strategies dialog is displayed.
  4. On the Studies tab, select the study that is causing the runtime error.
  5. Click Status to turn the study's status to On.
  6. Click Close.

The study should now be properly displayed on your chart.
