News Filter - Settings

The News Filter - Settings dialog allows you to specify the number of headlines to display as well as the data to include for your News filter. The Headlines pane can display a maximum of 1000 headlines.

 Access from a News window using the Data > Search News (customize filter) menu sequence, or from the Headline Pane using the right-click Settings > Add News Filter sequence, then select the Settings tab. The News Filter - Settings dialog is displayed.

 From the Ticker Bar, access using the shortcut menu New Ticker > News sequence. The News Filter - Settings dialog is displayed.

Historical Headlines  

Displays the last symbol used or the selected symbol that is currently displayed in the News window. If no symbol is displayed in the News window, the Name box will be empty.

  • Number of Days Back - Select this setting to determine how many days back the filter will include. Enter the number of days (0 - 365) in the box.
  • Date Range - Select this setting to limit your filter to headlines within a specific date range. Select the dates that you want to use from the From and To drop-down calendars.

Limits

  • Initial Number of Headlines to Load - Enter the maximum number of headlines (up to 25) that you want to initially load into the Headlines pane. Any headlines received after the maximum has been reached are displayed in addition to the first headlines received.

Set as Default - Check this setting to use these settings as the default for all future filters.

 Click OK to apply changes or Cancel to exit without any changes.
