Using Context-Sensitive Help

In Help, you can obtain information about windows or dialog boxes by using the context-sensitive Help option that is available in the application. You can access this Help in several ways, including:

  • Dialog Boxes: Dialog boxes display Help buttons. Click the button and a topic opens in a custom window that explains how to use the settings and controls at the dialog. You can also press F1 in a dialogs to get help.

  • Windows: From any window, press F1 to get more information about using it.

  • Right-click menus: Every right-click menu includes a Help option. For help on a specific item, right-click and select Help. You can also right-click inside windows for help.

  • Field-level Help: Some basic dialog boxes are provided by the Windows operating system (for example, Open and Save As). Click the question mark in the upper-right corner of these dialog boxes and then click the field or control you want information about.  A popup window opens and displays brief information about how to use the field or control.
