Opening a Desktop

You can open any of your desktops that you created or open sample workspaces that are included in TradeStation. The sample workspaces are: Chart Analysis, Futures, Options, and Stock Watch. You can use these workspaces to get an idea of how workspaces function or even as a building block for your own workspaces. In this window, you can choose the saved desktop that you want to open.

When you reopen your workspaces, the data specified in the Customize Symbol dialog box of your Chart Analysis window is reloaded. In addition, all studies are automatically recalculated. Drawing objects, such as trendlines, are also adjusted. If you choose an already-open workspace, it becomes the current workspace.

TradeStation desktops use the *.tsd extension.

 Access using the menu bar File > Open Desktop menu sequence. The Open Desktop dialog is displayed.

1. Navigate to the location to the desktop file is saved.
2. Select the desktop to open. For multiple desktops, hold the CTRL key and select additional workspaces.
3. Click Open. The desktop is now displayed in your TradeStation window.
