Q: How can I fix it?
A: Try the following steps:
- Run the installer as Administrator – right-click the setup file and select Run as Administrator.
- Delete temporary files – clear out the Windows temporary folder.
- Check for existing versions – uninstall or stop any previous version of the application before reinstalling.
- Disable antivirus temporarily – some security tools may interfere with the installation.
- Ensure sufficient disk space – verify that your system drive (usually C:) has enough free space.

To launch the TradeStation Desktop Platform in Run as Administrator mode, here’s how you can do it:
A. One-time launch
- Close the platform if it’s already open.
- Right-click on the TradeStation Desktop shortcut (or the .exe file).
- Select Run as administrator.
- Approve the Windows User Account Control (UAC) prompt.
B. Always run as administrator (default setting)
If you want TradeStation to always launch this way:
- Right-click the TradeStation Desktop shortcut → Properties.
- Go to the Compatibility tab.
- Under Settings, check Run this program as an administrator.
- Click Apply → OK.
This ensures every launch runs with elevated privileges, so updates and certain functions won’t fail due to permissions.
