Point & Figure - Interval

The Point & Figure charting method focuses on price changes by eliminating time and volume; informing traders where price is relative to prior levels. For more information, see Point & Figure Chart.

 Access using the Chart Analysis Style > Point & Figure menu sequence.

 Access using the Chart Analysis Data > Edit Symbol menu sequence, click the Settings tab, and under Select Interval choose Point & Figure.

 Access using the Chart Analysis TimeFrame > Customize menu sequence, click the Settings tab, and under Select Interval choose Point & Figure.

  • Under Box Size, enter the box size. Make sure that the box size does not exceed the price scale precision or rounding errors may occur.
  • Under Reversal, enter the enter the reversal amount.
  • In the Using box, enter the data interval to use for the chart, and select the interval from the drop-down list.
  • In Basis, select the method used to construct the Point & Figure chart. The 'High/Low Range' selection uses the High and Low of the underlying data to build the Point & Figure chart. The 'Close' selection uses only the Close of the underlying bar to build the Point & Figure chart.  
  • Enable One-Step-Back column building - The One-Step-Back selection is only applicable when the Reversal is set to 1. When enabled, if the price reverses direction by only one box and then resumes its prior (opposite) direction, the 'X' and the box will appear in the same column.

 Click OK to apply changes or Cancel to exit without changes.
