Specifying the Anchor Bar for a Percent Change Chart

All percent change charts use an anchor bar. This is the bar upon which all percent change calculations are made. The anchor bar can be the first bar, the last bar, or a specific bar you select between the first and last bars.

If you wish to calculate the percentage change chart from a specific historical bar, follow the steps below. If you wish to calculate the percentage change from either the first or last bar on the chart, jump to Step 3:

  1. Press and hold down your mouse button as the pointer moves across the dates on the time (horizontal) axis. A ToolTip, providing the date and time, will appear beside the pointer as you move it.
  2. Stop moving your mouse when you reach the desired historical bar.
  3. Right-click on the desired historical bar, or on the chart's background if you wish to create a percentage change chart that calculates from the first or last bar on the chart.
  4. In the right-click menu, select Style. In the fly-out menu, select Percent Change Chart. Then select Calculate from first bar, Calculate from last bar, or Calculate from this bar.

The chart will now be displayed as a percent change chart:
