Enabling Automated Execution for a Strategy
Strategy automation provides you with the ability to automatically trade your strategies through your TradeStation account(s).
Activate
a Chart Analysis window containing a strategy. Access using the Studies > Edit Strategies menu sequence
and select the Strategies tab.
The Customize Studies & Strategies - Strategies dialog is
displayed.
- Select the desired strategy whose status is displayed as "On".
- Under Automation, select the Generate strategy orders for display in TradeManager's Strategy Orders tab check box.
- Select the Automate execution using [account number] account with confirmation check box. The Enable Order Generation dialog is displayed.
- Click I Agree to proceed in automatically place and generate strategy orders and continue, or click I Do Not Agree if you do not wish to continue using the automate execution feature.
For equities,
you cannot automate execution in a strategy for the same symbol and account
where there is the possibility of taking a position in the opposite direction
of an already automated execution strategy.
- From the Automation section, select Off from the drop-down list to disable receiving order confirmations from the Automate execution using [account #] account with confirmation check box. The Disable Confirmation dialog is displayed. Review the statement concerning fully automated trading with TradeStation.
- Click I Agree to continue, or click I Do Not Agree if you do not wish to continue receiving order confirmations when orders are placed.
- Optional. Click the account number to select a different account number to use. The Edit Account Number - Equities dialog is displayed.
- Select On to receive an order confirmation, or Off to not receive an order confirmation prior to orders generated are placed for the selected strategy from the Automate execution using [account #] account with confirmation drop-down list.
If
Off is selected, the Disable Confirmation dialog is displayed. Read the
statement concerning fully automated trading with TradeStation. Click
I Agree to continue, or click I Do Not Agree if you do not wish to continue
using the order confirmation feature.
Click
Close to apply changes.
