Placing Orders from the Basket Order Window
You can only place market and limit orders with a Day duration from the Basket Order window. The Intelligent order route is used for all orders placed from the Basket Order window.
The Buy/Sell/Short/Cover button will appear unavailable until you load a Trade List.
Activate an existing Basket Order window, or click the Basket Order icon from the Apps tab to create a new one. The Basket Order window is displayed.
- Click Load Trade List to open the desired trade list. The Open dialog is displayed.
- Navigate to the location of the Trade List file that you want to select.
- Click Open. The Trade List file will load symbols into the Basket Order window.
- In the Settings section of the window:
- Select the position type you want to enter or exit from the Side drop-down list. You can choose from Buy, Sell, Short, or Cover.
- From the Account drop-down list, select the desired account number. If you are not connected to the Trade Server, the Account box will display an "offline" message.
- Review and modify the Route, Duration, and Auto Limit Price Increment as appropriate for your order.
- From the Percent box, enter the percent of the total Trade List volume that you want to trade. For example, if you only want to trade 50% of the volume of the selected Trade List, enter 50 in the Percent box. If you want to trade double the volume of the Trade List, enter 200 in the Percent box, to represent 200% or double the volume.
- Select the Confirm check box to receive a confirmation message before your order is sent to the Trade Server.
- Under Totals, a summary of your basket is shown which includes the number of Orders, the shares/contract Qty to Execute, and Estimated Cost of the order.

- Under Actions, click order action to send the order to the Trade Server.
The label on the button reflects the type of position selected from the Side drop-down list, the percentage in the Percent box, and the Trade List name. For example, if you elected to enter a short position for 50% of a Trade List named Tech Picks, the button label will show Short 50% of Tech Picks.
