Format Symbol (Market Depth, Quick Trade Bar)

The Format Symbol dialog allows you to choose what type of data that you want to display: standard Level II data, Level II data and any of the ECN books combined, or only selected ECN books. You can also choose if you want to combine all orders at the same price level for an ECN as a combined order or as separate orders.

Formatting the symbol for a Market Depth or Quick Trade Bar window will only change that particular window. If you have other Market Depth and/or Quick Trade Bar windows open, they will not be affected unless they share a common symbol link. (See About Window Linking for more information)

You must be entitled to receive Level II data. If you are not entitled for Level II data, you will only be able to view the ECN books.

Access using the menu bar Format > Symbol menu sequence. The Format Symbol dialog is displayed.

Symbol

Displays the active symbol in the quote bar of the window.

Select the drop-down list to select a different symbol used in the active window.
Lookup - Launches the Symbol Lookup dialog and search the desired symbol by asset type, description or symbol name.

Equity Display Settings

Contains the route types available for the active window.

ECN books - Check this setting to display ECN books.
All books - Check this setting to display all available ECN books. Clear this setting to display only selected ECN books, and select the desired individual books from the list.
Combine quotes at the same price level by ECN - Check this setting to display all orders at the same price level for an ECN as a combined order. To display them as separate orders, clear the check box.
Include Nasdaq Level II (or TotalView)/NYSE Market Depth with ECN Books - Check this setting to include the Nasdaq TotalView and NYSE Market Depth data with the ECN books.

Set as default - Check this setting to apply your changes to future Market Depth or Quick Trade Bar windows.

Click OK to apply changes or Cancel to exit without changes.
