Modifying Inputs for an ActivityBar Study

Inputs allow you to modify how the ActivityBar study is calculated (for example, the number of rows to use, the volume level the data must reach) and how its components are displayed (i.e. the size of the zone, the color of the cells, etc).

Refer to the ActivityBar Study Library for a listing and detailed description of the inputs for each built-in ActivityBar study.

Activate a Chart Analysis window containing an ActivityBar study. Access using the menu bar Format > Analysis Techniques. The Format Analysis Techniques & Strategies dialog is displayed.

  1. From the Analysis Techniques tab, select the desired ActivityBar study you want to format.
  2. Click Format. The Format ActivityBar:[study] dialog is displayed.
  3. Click the Inputs tab. The Name column lists the inputs used, and the Value column lists each input's default value.
  4. Select the input's value to edit.
  5. Enter the desired value or EasyLanguage expression.

When modifying a color input, you can select from 16 colors. To paste in an EasyLanguage Reserved Word or function, click Dictionary. For a discussion on valid input values, see Editing Input Values for a Strategy.

  1. Optional. Click Default to override new values entered as the default. Click Yes to confirm to use the new values as the default settings for future ActivityBar studies.
  2. Click OK or repeat steps for each input to edit.

If an error is detected in the value or expression you typed in the Expression edit box, an Error window is displayed and will advise the type of error made and provide examples of how to correct the error.

Click OK, click Close to apply changes.
