Using the Search Tab

Use the Search tab to explore the content of topics and find matches to user-defined queries.  For example, you can search for 'strategy' and every topic that contains the word 'strategy' will be listed at the Search tab.  Simply click any topic from the list and it is displayed in the viewer.  Be aware that such single word searches may find a large number of topics.

Here are the basic rules for making queries:

  • Searches are not case-sensitive, so you can type your search in uppercase or lowercase characters.

  • You may search for any combination of letters (a-z) and numbers (0-9).

  • Group words using double quotes (i.e. "Create a Chart") to search for complete phrases.

  • Punctuation marks such as the period, colon, semicolon, comma, and hyphen are ignored during a search.

  • Words found include full and partial matches along words that the search engine determines to be similar.
