Customize Scan - Scan Criteria
The Customize Scan - Scan Criteria dialog allows you to specify the rules for a scan by editing the Field, Operator, and Field/Value cells for each criteria row (rule). In addition, each criteria row can be expanded to specify the inputs, interval, and other settings using the expand button. The following sections will outline the columns in the primary grid and sub-grid.
The Customize Scan - Scan Criteria dialog allows you to specify the scan rules by selecting a quote field, Indicator, ShowMe, PaintBar, and an operators used in the scan. In addition, each criteria row can be expanded to specify the inputs, interval, and other settings using the expand button. The following sections will outline the columns in the primary grid and sub-grid.
Select the desired scan from the Scan Pane of the Scanner window.
Access using the Data > Edit Scan menu sequence or click Customize from the Scan Pane of the Scanner window. Select the Scan Criteria tab.
Select the Criteria to use in the scan
Contains the fields, operator and field/values to be used in the scan.
- Field - Enter or select the criteria you want to use for the scan (a description of the criteria selected will be displayed in the description box) using the drop-down list. Indicators, PaintBar and ShowMe studies can be used as criteria for the scan. Enter additional criteria/studies based on the scan you want to create.
The collapse/expand button allows you to display the Sort Key row to sort the criteria when multiple criteria is being used. When you execute and run the scan, the sort key will provide a list of symbols that met the criteria of the scan in the predefined order selected. For example, selecting First for Close and Second for Vol (Today) will sort in either ascending or descending order when you execute the scan.
When using a study, the Input/Setting Name and Value fields are based on the default setting used in the TradeStation Development Environment. The settings that are generated derive from Inputs, Studies properties and Interval.
- Operator - Select the desired operator to be used for the criteria using the drop-down list.
- Field/Value - Select a criteria value or name to complete the criteria for the selected scan.
- Move Up/Move Down - Sorts the criteria in order of priority; ascending or descending order. The results of the scan will determine the order of priority based on the selected field sort order.
Set as Default - Check this setting to use any changes that you made as your default.
Click OK to apply changes, click Run to run the scan, or Cancel to exit without changes.
