Cache

A cache is the temporary storage of data to increase the efficiency of a system. For example, previously viewed web pages are stored in your browser's cache directory (usually on your hard drive). When you request a page that you've viewed previously, the browser can retrieve it from the cache directory instead of the original server, which saves you time and reduces network traffic.
