Changing and Moving an Indicator to a different Sub-graph

As you add additional symbols and/or indicators into a chart, your chart is divided into sections, or subgraphs. Each symbol and/or indicator is displayed in a subgraph, either a separate or the same subgraph. Each chart has a total of 50 subgraphs, although you can only display a maximum of sixteen.

The first symbol you add to a chart is placed into subgraph one. The second symbol is placed into subgraph two, and so on. Indicators are placed either in the same subgraph as the price data on which they are based, or in a separate subgraph, depending on how they are designed.

For example, say you have two symbols, Merck and Dell, plotted in the same chart with Merck as Data1 in subgraph one, and Dell as Data2 in subgraph two. Now, you add the ADX Indicator. By default it is based on Data1 and placed in a separate subgraph, in this case, subgraph three. If you were to add an indicator that overlays the price data, it would be inserted in either subgraph one or two, depending on which symbol you choose to base the indicator on.

You can move the indicator to any subgraph in the chart, either to an empty subgraph or to one that contains another symbol or indicator. The indicator will still be based on the same symbol, it will just display in another subgraph.

1. Click the indicator you want to move, holding down the mouse button.

2. Drag the hand pointer to another subgraph on the chart.
   When the pointer moves to a new subgraph, a plus appears in the left corner of the hand pointer. .
