Opening the TradeStation Platform

When opening the Desktop, you are actually launching TradeStation. Similarly, when TradeStation is launched, you are actually opening the Desktop. For more information on the Desktop, see About the Desktop.

Access using the icon on the Windows desktop, or use the Windows Start button and search for the "TradeStation" desktop app.

TradeStation will launch displaying the TradeStation Network Logon window.

  • For more information about logging on, see Logging into TradeStation. To skip opening your previous workspace, press SHIFT after you click Log On. The TradeStation Desktop will open empty.
  • You can access TradeStation using a different Windows profile (user account) than the profile under which TradeStation was installed. However, the user accounts must be assigned Administrator or Power user rights. If you try to run TradeStation from a Windows profile that is different than the one used when you installed it and the profile does not have Administrator or PowerUser rights, you will receive the following error message, "You must have Administrator or PowerUser rights to run TradeStation" and you will not be able to access TradeStation.
  • To change the rights assigned to your Windows user account, refer to your Windows documentation under "To change a user's group or account type."
