Add Studies - ActivityBar (Chart Analysis)
The ActivityBar tab allows you to select and apply an ActivityBar study to the active Chart Analysis window. Only one ActivityBar study can be applied to a chart at a time. The ActivityBar study is always applied to the first symbol plotted in the chart and you cannot specify the subgraph in which you want to display the ActivityBar study.
Some ActivityBar studies require that you plot the Bid and Ask data on the chart. Check the ActivityBar Library for information on the individual study requirements before applying it. In addition, your study will be inserted using the default data interval. For instructions on changing the data interval, see Customize ActivityBar - Data Settings.
Access using the Studies > Add Study menu sequence and select the ActivityBar tab. See Adding Studies for more informatoin.
Please check the ActivityBar Study Library for information on the requirements of the individual study before applying it. Also, your ActivityBar study will be inserted using the default data interval.
If the ActivityBar study does not display, check the following:
- Make sure your volume level is set appropriately. Some ActivityBar studies rely on volume to create cells, and if the volume of your symbol is not significant, cells may not display.
- Check the style customizing options and make sure the Display ActivityBar Cells check box is selected.
- Make sure that there are enough ActivityBars to satisfy the number set in the MaxBarsBack setting.
- Make sure that the ApproxNumRows input is not set to zero (0).
When you add an ActivityBar study into a price chart that already has an ActivityBar study plotted, the new study replaces the previous one. If the ActivityBar study does not display, check the following:
- Make sure you have data stored at the selected data interval. For example, if you inserted the Price Distribution ActivityBar study and applied it at a 1-minute data interval, you should have 1-minute data for the symbol.
- Make sure your volume level is set appropriately. Some ActivityBar studies rely on volume to create cells and if the volume of your symbol is not significant, cells may not display.
- Check the style options and make sure the Display Cell check box is selected from the Customize ActivityBar: Study dialog.
- Check the general options and make sure that there are enough ActivityBars to satisfy the number set in the Maximum number of bars study will reference option from the Customize Study - General dialog.
- Make sure that the ApproxNumCells value is not set to zero (0) from the Customize Study - Inputs dialog.
