TradeStation Help
The Taxation property of a Japanese Equities trading account specifies the manner in which taxes are withheld for your orders.
The type of taxation methodology (Tokutei or Non-Tokutei) used by TradeStation is determined by your Monex 11 account setting.
The following table outlines the taxation methods that may be available:
Type | Description |
---|---|
Tokutei | Refers to special tax treatment. A Tokutei tax-withheld account allows you to have taxes calculated and withheld on closing transactions. A Tokutei non-tax-withheld account will not have taxes automatically withheld. Use the Monex 11 webpage to verify your Tokutei account setting. |
Non-Tokutei | No tax treatment is provided. The user is responsible for calculating and paying taxes on trades. Tokutei positions may NOT be held in a non-Tokutei account. |
In general, all new orders and positions will always adopt the account type election Tokutei or Non- Tokutei. The only exception is if you have a non-Tokutei position in a Tokutei account, you will be able to create a non-Tokutei order in a Tokutei account to CLOSE the open non-Tokutei position.
Before you can convert your Monex 11 account from Tokutei to non-Tokutei, you are required to close all Tokutei positions or convert Tokutei positions to non-Tokutei positions before the non-Tokutei account can be made active.
