Symbol Lookup - Options

The Options tab searches and finds the desired options symbol based on the criteria you select.

 Access using the menu bar Insert > Symbol menu sequence and click Lookup. You can also use the Main toolbar and click the Symbol Lookup icon.

The following methods are available to search for options symbols:

• Category - Searches by type of options (Stock Options, Futures Options, or Index Options).
• Underlying/Root - Searches by entering the underlying symbol or option root. If you do not know the complete underlying symbol or option root, first search for the underlying symbol using the Stocks, Futures, or Index tab. 

The following setting is used to refine the search criteria:

• Country - Searches by associated country.

Lookup - Displays the results based on what you entered in the Description, Underlying/Root, and Country settings. Results will be displayed in the options symbol box. Options search results are sorted by Type, Expiration, and Strike.

Filter Settings  

The Filter Settings section lists the combination of option symbols that will be listed. The combination is determined by strike price, expiration date and option type. Filter settings can be modified to create the desired criteria.

• Modify Filter - Allows you to change the preferences in how the options are filtered based on your search criteria using the Options Filter dialog.

Description  

Contains the results based on the criteria you selected. You can sort the list by clicking the desired a column name. An up/down arrow indicates if the column is sorted by ascending/descending (A-Z, Z-A) order.

• Optional. Select the desired column to sort by.
• Select the desired symbol from the list.

 Click OK to insert the symbol into your active window, or click Cancel to exit without changes.
