Add/Edit Data Source

The Add/Edit Data Source dialog allows you to identify the data type, location, and prefix of 3rd party data files.

1. From the Symbol Lookup dialog, select the 3rd Party tab.
2. In the Data source box, select a location containing 3rd party data files of a specific type.
   
   The File Names of possible data files appear in the list area below.
   
3. Click Add to create a new data source or Edit to modify an existing data source.

Format the settings on the Add/Edit Data dialog

1. From the Add/Edit Data Source dialog, select the data type file (ASCII or Metastock)
2. Specify the location (folder/path) of the data source by typing or Browsing.
3. Enter a prefix that is the prefix for a 3rd party data symbol name representing each data file in the specified location.
   
   A 3rd party data file contains price data that has been exported from an application and is stored in a defined format.

4. Click OK when finished.
