Format Symbol - Style

Use the Style tab to format the style settings for a chart. For the bar color and weight, you can customize the settings for the regular session and outside of the regular session.

To open the Format Symbol window automatically after the creation of a chart, use the View > Chart Analysis Preferences menu sequence. On the General tab, select the Prompt for format when creating new Chart Analysis windows check box, and click OK.

To display hollow and filled bodies for candlestick charts, both the Up and Down components must be set to the same color. You can select the Use same color/weight for all components check box to do this quickly. The Wick color may be any color.

 Access using the menu bar Format > Symbol menu sequence and select the Style tab.

Bar Type  

Displays the selected bar type in the active Chart Analysis window. Chart types that support multi-symbol charting and plotted in the active Chart Analysis window will display multiple bar types.

Transparency

Sets the percent transparency of the selected bar type, where 0% is completely solid and 100% is invisible.

Bar Components  

Displays the selected bar components in the active Chart Analysis window. Chart types that support multi-symbol charting and plotted in the active Chart Analysis window will display multiple bar types.

Permanent Lines/Permanent Columns/Regular Session  

Controls the color and weight style for the selected bar component for the bar type.  

In-Progress Line/In-Progress Column/Outside Regular Session  

Controls the color and weight style for in progress line, columns, or outside regular session for the selected chart bar type.

Based on the chart type you select, the following options: permanent lines, permanent columns, regular & outside session, and brick lines will be displayed. In order to change the style components for a custom session, the session must be customized appropriately under the Format Symbol - Properties tab. Under Outside Regular Session, select a color from the Color Weight drop-down list.

Set as Default - Check this setting to use any changes that you made as your default.

 Click OK to apply changes or Cancel to exit without changes.
