Chart Analysis Preferences - General
The General tab allows you to set general settings for all Chart Analysis windows in your workspaces.
Access using the menu bar View > Chart Analysis Preferences menu sequence and select the General tab.
General
- Enable right-button double click - Toggles between the maximize and restore window positions for the active chart.
- Prompt for format when creating new Chart Analysis windows - Automatically opens the Format Symbol dialog when creating a new Chart Analysis window.
- Restore prior Scale Range when disabling Background Dragging - Automatically restores the original Scale Range settings when using the background dragging tool from the Chart Analysis toolbar. When unchecked, disabling background dragging maintains the current range scale setting of the repositioned sub-graph.
CPU Settings
- Enable use of multiple CPU cores - Allows you to take advantage of multiple processor computing, as well as the additional memory that is available in 64-bit environments. When enabled, your Chart Analysis windows will be automatically distributed across available processor cores on your computer. This allocation better utilizes system resources by spreading the EasyLanguage calculation load; however, using the multi-core setting may affect DLLs that are referenced by EasyLanguage.
For example, if you have four Chart Analysis windows and four processors, each Chart Analysis window would reside on a separate processor, with EasyLanguage calculations for each window handled on its respective processor. If you create four additional charts; two windows would be allocated to each processor.
- Max concurrent Chart Analysis processes- Sets the number of processes to use for Chart Analysis so that you can more finely tune your system, such as the ability for multiple processes to access more memory than available when only using a single process. Use the up/down arrows, or type a value, to specify the number of processes to use from the max available for your CPU.
The CPU settings will take effect the next time you open the platform.
