Basing the Indicator on a Different Symbol

When you apply an indicator to a multi-data chart, by default it is based on the base price data you applied to the chart, referred to as Data1. However, you can choose to base the indicator on any of the other symbols in the chart.

1. Activate a Chart Analysis window containing multi-data and an indicator.
2. From the Menu bar, click Format > Analysis Techniques. The Analysis Techniques & Strategies dialog is displayed.
3. Click the Analysis Techniques tab.
4. Click Format. The Format Indicator: [symbol] dialog is displayed.
5. Click the General tab.
6. Select the symbol on which to base the indicator from the Base study on drop-down list.
7. Click OK, click Close.

The symbols and indicators will still be plotted in the same subgraphs as they were prior to this modification; however, the indicator will now be calculated based on the symbol that you selected.
