Desktop Preferences - Status Bar
Use the Status Bar tab to access the preference window to set alerts, general and notification settings, as well as messaging settings for the Status Bar. For more information, see About the Status Bar.
Access using the menu bar File > Preferences > TradeStation Desktop and select the Status Bar tab.
Events
Contains a list of events that you can choose from in which an alert notification can be enabled or disabled.
- Events - Check this desired settings to enable alerts for each event selected.
Description
Provides a description of the event that you have selected under Events.
General Settings
Provides you with options associated with the selected event. Depending on the event you select, the general settings will be different. General settings include:
- Include user initiated disconnections - Check this setting if you want a message notification to appear when there is a disconnection from the TradeStation Data Network.
- Include user initiated logons - Check this setting if you want a message notification to appear when TradeStation has connected to the TradeStation Data Network.
- Time - Click the drop-down arrows or click to enter the time in the Time field. If displayed, check the appropriate Day check boxes for the alert to be set for the selected event.
- Date - Click the drop-down arrow to display the calendar, and select the appropriate date for the alert to be set for the selected event.
- Start Date - Click the drop-down arrow to display the calendar, and select the appropriate date for the alert to be set for the selected event.
- Start Time - Click the drop-down arrows or click to enter the time you want to start the timer in the Start Time field.
- Timer Period - Click the drop-down arrows or click to enter the duration in which to set the timer in the Timer Period field.
Notification Settings
Contains the events in which an alert notification can be enabled or disabled for.
- Message - Depending on the selected event, a predefined message associated to the event appears in the Message box. The Message box is customizable and you can type a message you want displayed for the alert.
- Use the global messaging preferences - Select this setting to use the default audio and visual notifications that are displayed. You can configure the audio, visual and email preferences using the Configure button.
- Use custom settings - Select this setting to customize the alert settings using the Configure button.
Click OK to apply changes or Cancel to exit without changes.
