TradeStation Performance Mode
Controls the selection and configuration of TradeStation hardware modes.
- Compatibility - Uses only 1 core/process (i.e. only one instance of the chart executable is used regardless of how many charts are open. This allows strategies created with legacy EasyLanguage DLLs to run as in previous versions of the platform.
- Auto Configured by TradeStation (Recommended) - The number of allowed cores/processes is automatically determined to be the number of logical cores on the user's computer, up to a maximum of 16. For example: a) For a computer with 24 cores, the number of allowed cores will be set to 16. b) For a quad core computer without hyper-threading, the number of allowed cores will be 4 and for a quad core computer with hyper-threading it will be 8.
- Custom - Allows advanced users who want to enforce specific performance settings across the platform.
- Max Concurrent Chart Analysis Processes - Defines the maximum instances of the Chart Analysis executable (limited to 16).
- Max Concurrent TradingApp Processes - Defines the maximum instances of the TradingApp executable (limited to 16).
- Max Concurrent Strategy Optimization Tests - Defines the maximum number of threads being used for multi-threaded optimization (limited to 16).
Strategy optimizations are queued, so if you start multiple optimizations from different charts, only one will start and run at a time. If you access the Windows Task Manager and view the Performance tab, you will be able to see how many cores are being used for the active multi-threaded optimizations.
