Disabling a PaintBar or ShowMe Study

You can turn off, or temporarily disable a study without removing it from a chart. For example, you may want to turn off a study if you modified the input values and do not want the study to continue performing its calculations. Another reason you may want to disable a study is if you want to keep the study saved with the chart it is applied to but do not want the study to perform calculations at the moment.

When a study's status is Off, the study will not perform any calculations or trigger any alerts.

  1. Activate a Chart Analysis window containing a PaintBar or ShowMe study.
  2. From the Menu bar, click Format > Analysis Techniques. This Format Analysis Techniques & Strategies dialog is displayed.
  3. Select the desired study you want to disable.
  4. Click Status to toggle the status to Off. The Status column will indicate if the study has been disabled. To toggle the status back On, click Status again.
  5. Click Close when finished.

The PaintBar or ShowMe study is now disabled.

Runtime errors automatically turn off studies. To enable a study that caused a runtime error, you must correct the error and then set the study's status back to On. For more information, see Correcting Runtime Errors in Indicators Due to Maximum Number of Bars Study Will Reference Setting.

Data Missing errors automatically turn off studies. To enable this study, you must add the appropriate number of data streams and then set the study's status to On.
