Formatting the Style of the ActivityBar Study Cells

Formatting the style of an ActivityBar study cells enables you to change the way in which the ActivityBar study cells are displayed on your chart.

For instance, you can display cells with or without borders, as solid cells with varying colors to signify different time periods, or only with cell notations (letters or signs inside the cells). You can also specify whether or not to display the ActivityZone, as well as whether or not you want to display the open and closing prices on the chart.

 Activate a Chart Analysis window containing an ActivityBar study. Access using the menu bar Format > Analysis Techniques menu sequence. The Format Analysis Techniques & Strategies dialog is displayed.

  1. From the Analysis Technique tab, select the desired ActivityBar study you want to format.
  2. Click Format. The Format ActivityBar:[study] dialog is displayed.
  3. Click the Style tab.

Activity Cells

 A zone highlights specific cells of each ActivityBar study on the chart by enclosing them in a box, the dimensions and location of which is specified by the specific ActivityBar study. For most ActivityBar studies, the zone is drawn around all the cells that fall between the open and close of the bar. However, the Price Distribution ActivityBar study draws the zone around the most frequently occurring price in the bar, one standard deviation above it and one standard deviation below it. You can change the number of standard deviations used to draw the zone. For specifications on the zone in each study, refer to the description of the applicable ActivityBar study.

Click Default to use the selections as the default settings for that ActivityBar study in the future.

 Click OK or click Close to apply changes.
