Format Analysis Technique Properties - General
When creating or modifying an analysis technique, you can format its
properties so that these settings are used when the technique performs
a calculation. You can modify the name, short name, notes, maximum number
of bars the study will reference, and more.
- Access
using the File > Properties
menu sequence while editing an analysis technique document, then
selecting the General tab.
The following section headings and check boxes appear on the tab
Name
Contains the analysis technique's name.
Short Name
Contains the abbreviated name for the analysis
technique.
Notes
Contains relevant notes pertaining to the
analysis technique.
Base Study on
Displays the symbols that contain on the
chart.
- Select the symbol from the drop-down
list to base the analysis technique's study on.
Maximum number of bars study will reference
Displays the number of bars to be used.
For more information, see Understanding
the Maximum Number of Bars a Study Will Reference.
- Auto-detect
- Detects the number of bar the analysis technique needs to calculate.
Default.
- User
defined - Allows you to set the number of bars to use.
Update value intra-bar (tick-by-tick)
- Check this setting to re-calculate
the analysis technique on a tick-by-tick basis. If this check box
is cleared, the indicator waits until the close of each bar before
re-calculating.
Enable RunCommand EasyLanguage Keyword (only
visible when a RunCommand is detected in an analysis technique)
- Check this setting to allow an EasyLanguage
RunCommand in an analysis technique to execute a command or macro
string.
- with confirmation On/Off - Turns
order confirmation on or off when RunCommand is enabled and analysis
technique is applied.
Enable order placement objects (only visible
when an order placement object is detected in an analysis technique)
Load additional data for accumulative calculations (only
visible for grid based analysis (RadarScreen, OptionStation, etc.)
- Check this setting to allow a preset
number of additional bars to be loaded when the analysis technique
is first applied to a grid.
- Click Details
for more information about Loading
Additional Data for Accumulative Calculations.
- Additional
bars to load - Specifies the number of additional bars to be
loaded to accommodate calculations within an analysis technique. This
may need to be adjusted after the analysis technique is applied to
increase the number of bars available based on the interval settings
and calculation requirements.
Currency based on
Specifies whether the currency value for
the analysis is based on the symbol or account currency. For symbols
where the US Dollar is not the base symbol, you have the option to choose
the symbol currency.
- Select the currency type from the
drop-down list that you want to use as the when calculating currency
related values for the analysis technique.
Default
- Click this button to use the current
settings as the default for all future analysis techniques. A message
appears to confirm if you want to use your settings as the default.
The Preview
