Discretionary Position Strategies

At some point, you may have an open position that was not generated by a strategy that you want to incorporate into a strategy in order to generate an exit order for the open position. To do this, you first need to apply the _Historical Entry strategy to generate an entry representing your open position in a Chart Analysis window. Based on this entry, you can then apply one or more exit strategies to exit the open position. For details on this process, see Adding a Stop to an Open Position.

The Discretionary Position Strategies are appropriate for use in conjunction with the _Historical Entry strategy for this purpose although they may also be used independently of the _Historical Entry strategy. These strategies generate a single entry or single exit to automate the execution of a single trade. Each strategy is preceded by an underscore (_) to make them easy to locate in the Insert Strategies dialog.
