Format Scan - Symbol Universe

The Format Scan - Symbol Universe dialog allows you to add or modify the desired symbols you want for the selected scan.  

Select the desired scan from the Scan Pane of the Scanner window.

 Access using the menu bar Format > Scan menu sequence or click Format from the Scan Pane of the Scanner window. Select the Symbol Universe tab.

Specify the universe of symbols to scan  

Contains the universe of symbols where you enter the symbols you want to include in the scan. You can enter all symbols simultaneously, select symbols by asset type, market or exchange, enter symbols manually, and enter a predefined custom symbol lists.

• Select the desired symbol(s) to use for the scan using the drop-down list. Continue to insert symbols to include until your desired symbol list is complete. The check mark on the symbol row indicates that is the symbol(s) that will included in the scan.

Select symbols to exclude  

Contains the universe of symbols to exclude certain symbols from the universe group you selected in the Symbols to Include section.

• Select any symbols to be excluded from the universe group selected using the drop-down list.

Set as Default - Check this setting to use any changes that you made as your default.

 Click OK to apply changes, click Run to run the scan, or Cancel to exit without changes.
