Data Intervals in RadarScreen

Each row in a RadarScreen page has access to historical data that can be set to any data interval, which allows you to use many of the same indicators you used in charting. Data interval lets you calculate indicators on a different time intervals.

There are two types of data intervals in RadarScreen: time-based and tick-based. Time-based intervals include minute (e.g. 1- minute, 5 - minute), second, daily, weekly, or monthly intervals. A symbol's data interval only affects indicator columns such as Moving Average 1 Line, and RSI that require historical data to perform their calculations. For example, when you apply a moving average indicator to a symbol with a 5-minute data interval, the indicator would use the close of the 30-minute interval in its calculations. By default, all symbols are added using a 5-minute data interval. Indicator columns that do not require historical data update on a tick-by-tick basis, regardless of the data interval applied to the symbol.

For more information on the different types of data intervals, see time-based and tick-based.
