Format Window - General (OptionStation Analysis)

The General tab allows you to format the general settings for an OptionStation window, such as the update indication, indicator settings, and parameters for each window section. Once these format settings have been changed, you can save them as part of an OptionStation template so that you can easily reapply them to another window.

 Access using the menu bar Format > Window menu sequence and select the General tab.

Update Indication  

Changes the time interval in seconds for update the indicator in the OptionStation window.

• Enable - Check this setting to activate the update indication setting.
• Time Interval [] seconds- Select the number of seconds to update the indicator using the arrow or button.

Indicator Settings  

Contains how the names are displayed for the indicator in the OptionStation window.

• Long/Short Name - Check the setting you want to display the indicator column names.

Option Section  

Contains the show/hide settings for the Puts and Calls, and sort settings for the Strike and Expiration Date columns in the OptionStation window.

• Show Puts - Check this setting to display the Puts in the OptionStation window.
• Show Calls - Check this setting to display the Calls in the OptionStation window. Check the Show Left To Right setting to specify whether the columns are displayed left to right. Deselect the Show Left To Right setting to display the columns from right to left.
• Sort - Check the setting to be used to sort entries in the OptionStation Analysis window.
• Show Fractional days to Expiration - Check this setting to display the expiration date in fractions.

Spread Chain Section  

Contains the settings for spread chains in the OptionStation window.

• Action- Select the type of action from the drop-down list.
• Chain View- Select a spread name from the drop-down list.
• Strike Speed- Select the number of strikes to use spreads from the drop-down list.
• Expiration- Select the number of expirations to use from the drop-down list.
• No Contracts- Enter the number of contracts to use. By default, 10 contracts are used.

You can also change these spread settings from the OptionStation Analysis Toolbar along with format symbol settings for expiration and strike proximity.

Position Section  

Contains the settings to show/hide the position columns and how the position is highlighted.

• Show Position Columns - Check this setting to display the columns that refer to the Qty, Exp Date, Strike value, Side, and Price information for each position.
• Position Highlight - Check the method you want to use for position highlighting. Hover will highlight only when the mouse cursor moves over a position.

 Click OK to apply changes or Cancel to exit without changes.
