Edit Leg

The Edit Leg dialog allows you to change an existing position rather than adding to or subtracting from it. For example, instead of adding 5 units to an existing position of 40 units, you can modify the position and change it to 45 units. The difference is that when modifying a position, you must calculate the cost basis whereas when adding to or subtracting from a position, TradeStation calculates the cost basis automatically.

Access using the shortcut menu and select Edit Leg on the desired leg from the Positions pane. The Edit Leg dialog is displayed.

Enter the number of units that you are holding in the Units of trade box. You can use the $image\spin_up_button.gif$ and $image\spin_down_button.gif$ buttons to choose a number.
Enter the cost basis for the trade in the Cost basis of trade box.

Click OK to apply changes or Cancel to exit without changes.
