Customize Symbol - Style
Use the Style tab to customize the style settings for a chart. For the bar color and weight, you can customize the settings for the regular session and outside of the regular session.
Access from a Chart Analysis window using the Data
> Edit Symbol menu sequence and select the Style
tab.
To
access the Customize Symbol dialog automatically after a chart has been created,
use the Settings > Preferences menu sequence. On the
General tab, select the Prompt for customization when creating new Chart Analysis
window check box and click OK.
To display hollow and filled bodies for candlestick charts, both the Up and Down components must be set to the same color. You can select the Use same color/weight for all components check box to do this quickly. The Wick color may be any color.
Bar Type 
Displays the selected bar type in the active Chart Analysis window. Chart types that support multi-symbol charting and plotted in the active Chart Analysis window will display multiple bar types.
- Select a desired bar type (if applicable) to modify the style for the chart.
Transparency
Sets the percent transparency of the selected bar type, where 0% is completely solid and 100% is invisible.
- Use the Transparency slider or enter a value in the % box to change the transparency of a selected bar type.
Bar Components
Displays the selected bar components in the active Chart Analysis window. Chart types that support multi-symbol charting and plotted in the active Chart Analysis window will display multiple bar types.
- Select a desired bar component to modify the style for the chart.
Permanent Lines/Permanent Columns/Regular Session
Controls the color and weight style for the selected bar component for the bar type.
- Color - To change the color, select the color from the list.
- Weight - To change the weight style, select the weight from the list.
In-Progress Line/In-Progress Column/Outside Regular Session
Controls the color and weight style for in progress line, columns, or outside regular session for the selected chart bar type.
- Color - To change the color, select color from the list.
- Weight - To change the weight style, select the weight from the list.
Based on the chart type you select, the following options: permanent lines, permanent columns, regular & outside session, and brick lines will be displayed. In order to change the style components for a custom session, the session must be customized appropriately under the Customize Symbol - Properties tab. Under Outside Regular Session, select a color from the Color Weight drop-down list.
- Use same color/weight for all components with each bar type - Check this setting to apply the same color and weight settings to all components for a particular bar type. If you want to use different settings for each component, clear the check box.
- Enable Outlining - Check this setting to draw a thin line around the body of a candlestick bar using the Wick color.
- Display Update Indication - Check this setting to highlight the price on the price axis. The price will be highlighted in the same color as the symbol's plot.
- Make price data invisible - Check this setting to hide the price data in the sub-graph to which it is assigned.
Set as Default - Check this setting to use any changes that you made as your default.
Click OK to apply changes or Cancel to exit without changes.
