Creating and Customizing a Toolbar

In addition to displaying the default toolbars, you can create or customize toolbars. Once you create a toolbar, it acts just like a default toolbar allowing you to add, remove, and rearrange buttons.

Creating a Custom Toolbar

  1. Activate a window.
  2. From the desktop Menu bar, click View > Application Toolbars > Customize or click the Toolbar Options arrow to the right of each toolbar. The Customize dialog is displayed.
  3. Click the Toolbars tab.
  4. Click New.
  5. In the Toolbar name field, enter the toolbar name (i.e. "Top 10 Functions Used").
  6. Click OK when finished. A toolbar is displayed at the top of the desktop. The new toolbar is ready to have toolbar button commands (icons) added to it.
  7. Click Apply when finished to save the new toolbar.

Adding Toolbar Icons to a Toolbar

  1. From the Customize dialog, click the Commands tab. The Categories list displays all the categories of commands into which the available buttons have been organized.
  2. From the Commands section, click and drag each command button desired into the new toolbar.

The toolbar will increase in size as you add more buttons.

  1. Repeat step 9 until all the icons have been added into the toolbar.
  2. Click Apply when finished to save the buttons to the new toolbar.

Renaming a Custom Toolbar

You are asked to give your custom toolbar a name when you create them. However, you can rename them at any time.

  1. Activate a window.
  2. From the desktop Menu bar, click View > Application Toolbars > Customize. The Customize dialog is displayed.
