Using the Import / Export Wizard

The Import/Export Wizard guides you through the process of importing and exporting EasyLanguage documents.

Refer to the Import or Export section below as appropriate.

Import EasyLanguage (TradeStation.com / ELD, ELS or ELA file / ELP)

You can either import EasyLanguage files into your copy of TradeStation from the Internet or from a file (ELD, ELS, or ELA) your local computer.  

Select one of the following and then complete the remaining steps:  

  • Select Import EasyLanguage from TradeStation.com to import an EasyLanguage file from the Internet-based EasyLanguage file library.  Click Next to continue.

              or

  • Select Import EasyLanguage File (ELD, ELS, or ELA) to import an EasyLanguage  document file from your computer or local network.  Click Next to continue.
  • Select Import EasyLanguage Project (ELP) to import an EasyLanguage  project file from your computer or local network.  Click Next to continue.
  1. Enter the name of the path/file that you want to import. Click Browse or Scan to locate the file on your system.  Click Next to continue.
  2. Under Analysis Types, select those that you want to import.

   Click Select All to select every type in the list or click Clear All to clear the check boxes.

  1. Under Available Analysis Techniques, select those that you want to import.

  Click Select All to select every technique in the list or click Clear All to clear the check boxes.

  1. Click Finish to import of the selected items from the specified file.

 

Export EasyLanguage Document File (ELD / ELD Protected)

You can either export EasyLanguage files in the regular format (so that the code is visible when imported) or in a protected format (where the code is not visible when imported).  In both cases the analysis techniques, strategies, and functions can be imported and applied but only the regular format files may be viewed and edited.  

Select one of the following and then complete the remaining steps:  

  • Select Export EasyLanguage Documents File (ELD) to export analysis techniques, strategies, and functions to an ELD file that may be edited upon import.  Click Next to continue.

              or

  • Select Export EasyLanguage Documents File (ELD) Proteced to export analysis techniques, strategies, and functions to a protected ELD file that may imported but not viewed or edited.   Click Next to continue.
  1. From the Analysis Type drop-down list, select a type of technique to be listed or select All Analysis Techniques to see a list of all analysis techniques.
  2. From the Available Analysis Techniques list on the left side of the dialog, select (highlight) those that you want to move to the right side.  Hold down the Shift-key to highlight a range of items or hold down the Ctrl-key to highlight multiple items out of sequence.
  3. Click image\rightselectarrow.gif to move selected items from the Available Analysis Techniques list (left side) to the Analysis Techniques(s) to Export list (right side).  
    To move the complete list of available techniques from the left to the right, click image\doublerightselectarrow.gif.  
  4. Click Next when you're done selecting items.
  5. Enter the name of the path/file that you want to export. Click Browse or Scan to locate a path or file on your system system.  Click Next to continue.
  6. Click Finish to export the techniques you selected to the path/file you specified.

 

Import EasyLanguage Project (ELP)

You can import an EasyLanguage project and all of its saved elements (analysis techniques, strategies, and functions) into your copy of the TDE from an ELP file on your local computer.    

Select the following and then complete the specified steps:  

  • Select Import EasyLanguage Project (ELP) to import an EasyLanguage project to the TDE from your computer.  Click Next to continue.
  1. Enter the name of the path/file that you want to import. Click Browse or Scan to locate a path or file on your system system.  Click Next to continue.
  2. Review any confirmation dialogs (if element already exist) and proceed until all project elements are imported.

 

Export EasyLanguage Project (ELP)

You can either export an EasyLanguage Project and all of its elements (analysis techniques, strategies, and functions) to a specified ELP file for later use.      

Select the following and then complete the specified steps:  

  • Select Export EasyLanguage Project (ELP) to export an EasyLanguage project from the TDE to your computer.  Click Next to continue.
  1. Enter the name of the path/file that you want to export. Click Browse or Scan to locate a path or file on your system.  Click Next to continue.
  2. Click Finish to export the project and its elements to the path/file you specified.
