Managing updates in TradeStation Update Manager

The TradeStation Update Manager window allows you to install new release versions and apply/roll-back TradeStation updates. Color-coded visual cues are used to indicate the status of the release version or patch update displayed. By default, TradeStation automatically downloads patch updates to your computer once the platform is launched. For more information on how to set the download preferences, see Desktop Preferences - Updates.

Click Show All from the main screen of the TradeStation Update Manager window. The detail view of the TradeStation Update Manager is displayed.

The detail view includes the most recent updates and versions displayed on the main window as well as any preceding upgrades that may have been available. Keep in mind installing the most recent update includes all previous builds. The TradeStation Update Manager detail view allows you to:

Applying Patch Updates

Your current base build will be indicated with Current Update in the Action column. From there, you have the option to Apply a more recent (9.1 Update 1), or the most recent update (9.1 Update 2) to the current release version installed on your computer. When an update's status is Critical, it is highly recommended that you apply the update.

Click Apply on the desired patch update.

The Downloading TradeStation update... message may automatically appear once you display the TradeStation Update Manager window. This would only occur if the window opens during the time TradeStation is downloading an update.

Rolling Back Patch Updates

Once an update has been applied to your computer, it can be removed. If the patch update does not fit your needs, you can roll-back to the previously installed update if necessary.

Click Roll-back on the desired patch update you want to roll back from.

A popup window is displayed confirming that you want to roll-back to the previous update. Click Continue to roll-back. Roll-back only applies to patch updates; not release versions.

Applying or Installing Beta Versions and Updates

The TradeStation Test Program allows you to participate in evaluating alpha and beta test versions or updates. Test builds are pre-release candidates that are subject to change based on user's feedback.

Click Install on the desired Beta version or click Apply on the desired Beta patch update.

Installing Release Versions

It is recommended to install the newest release version in order to take advantage of the latest enhancements and new features of the platform.

Click Install to allow TradeStation to install the release version to your computer.

When you apply an update or install a release version, the platform, Ticker, and TradeStation Development Environment will automatically shut down. Essential TradeStation environment files are backed up and you will be notified by the Update Manager Popup Notification. Once the patch update has been applied or the release version has been installed, check the "Launch TradeStation when finished" setting to launch the TradeStation platform. If you bypass the notification window, you are postponing the update to be applied to your computer and will be reminded of the pending update when you close the platform.

Show Summary - Displays the main screen for patch updates and release versions that are currently available for your computer.

You can also select Preferences to launch the TradeStation Desktop Preferences - Updates dialog. Select Help to launch TradeStation Help.
