Format Analysis Technique - Data Settings

The Data Settings tab allows you to set the data interval settings for an ActivityBar study. This specifies the time frame that each cell in the ActivityBar study will represent. The choices available are determined by the data interval of the chart where you are applying the study. If a choice is unavailable, it appears dimmed.

When you insert an ActivityBar study in a chart, you can specify the data interval to use for the study; this specifies the time frame that each cell in the ActivityBar study will represent. The data interval you choose must be smaller than the data interval of the chart to which you want to apply the study.

For example, if you create a daily chart, your ActivityBar study can use any data interval smaller than a day. Likewise, if your chart is a 60-minute chart, your study can use any data interval smaller than 60-minutes, and must be a number by which 60 is divisible.

If you do not have the necessary data, either because you are not storing it or because you have not satisfied the maximum number of bars required by the study, the ActivityBar will not appear on the chart.

Access using the menu bar Format > Analysis Techniques menu sequence and select the Format > Data Settings tab.
